SpaceX to Launch an IPO in 2026, Raising $25 Billion

Time to Fasten Your Seatbelts, Investors

According to reports, SpaceX is firmly moving ahead with plans to go public via an initial public offering (IPO) targeted for mid-to-late 2026. The company aims to raise significantly more than $25 billion, making it potentially the largest IPO ever.

The company’s full valuation could be roughly $1 trillion, following the IPO. That would place SpaceX among the few companies worldwide to cross the trillion-dollar threshold.

SpaceX’s accelerated push to the public markets is driven by its growing commercial momentum, especially from Starlink, its satellite-internet business, along with continued work on its ambitious rocket programmes. Projections suggest revenue could rise from about US$15 billion in 2025 to somewhere between US$22–24 billion in 2026, with most of this coming from Starlink’s growth.

As part of the preparation, SpaceX is reportedly already running a secondary share sale for insiders at a price near $420 per share, a move that effectively pushes its private valuation to above US$800 billion in the near term.

Still, the exact timing and size of the IPO remain subject to market conditions and internal company decisions; some insiders suggest the listing could slip into 2027 if circumstances change.

In short, SpaceX appears poised to attempt a record-breaking public debut, leveraging booming demand for satellite internet and ambitious space-tech plans. Whether this vision comes to market in 2026 (or 2027) remains to be seen, but if it does, it could reshape how we think about space, tech, and public markets.
