SpaceX to Infuse $2 Billion in Elon Musk’s xAI Startup

SpaceX Powers Up xAI with $2B : Elon Musk’s AI Empire Takes Flight

SpaceX’s $2 billion investment in xAI, part of a $5 billion funding round, highlights Elon Musk’s powerful ties in the tech industry. As reported by the Wall Street Journal on Saturday, his AI venture is now seen as a rival to OpenAI.

Following xAI’s merger with X, the combined company is valued at an impressive $113 billion. The Grok chatbot now supports Starlink and could soon be incorporated into Tesla’s Optimus robots, as mentioned in the article.

When asked on X about Tesla potentially investing in xAI, Musk responded on Sunday, “It would be great, but subject to board and shareholder approval,” without confirming or denying the WSJ’s report on SpaceX’s plans.

Neither SpaceX, xAI, nor Tesla quickly responded. Reuters has yet to verify the WSJ story.

Despite some recent issues with Grok’s replies, Musk describes it as “the smartest AI in the world.” xAI continues to invest heavily in training its models and extending its infrastructure.
