Viabot, the Santa Clara-based robotics startup, has closed a $24 million Series A round led by Walden International, with CDIB Capital and Stalwart Ventures joining existing backers Baseline Ventures, ERA Ventures, Morado Ventures and SOSV. That brings the company’s total funding to $43 million.
The company’s flagship product, the Viabot One, is an autonomous outdoor sweeping robot built for large commercial properties like retail parks, campuses, hospital grounds and office parks. It’s sold as robotics-as-a-service rather than as a one-time equipment purchase, and Viabot says it currently services 25 million square feet of outdoor space.
What makes the pitch interesting is the hardware’s dual use. The Viabot One navigates using cameras, lidar, depth sensors, and differential GPS, building a 3D map of its surroundings so it can run scheduled cleaning routes, then dock to recharge and empty into standard bins. Those same sensors double up as what Viabot calls “soft security”: the robot can flag loitering and trespassing incidents in real time, with human staff monitoring the alerts around the clock.

On the market case, Viabot points to labour shortages in grounds maintenance as the strongest driver for adoption, though that argument gets relatively little space in the announcement itself. Litter statistics are also part of the pitch, though a Keep America Beautiful study from May 2026 found litter has actually fallen 34% since 2020, somewhat undercutting that framing.
Founded in 2016 by Gregg Ratanaphanyarat and Andre Ding, Viabot has steadily scaled from a $6.1 million seed round back in 2021 to this latest raise, positioning itself at the intersection of facility maintenance automation and physical security tech.
